Nate Trombley

Director, Disaster Management
Nathaniel is an expert in community development and disaster recovery initiatives with more than 10 years of experience.

Working with federal, state, and local government organizations, Nathaniel specializes in grant administration, financial management, budgeting, procurement, and project management. He also works with reporting, systems, and regulatory compliance, especially on Community Development Block Grants Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) FEMA-funded programs.

Nathaniel currently leads our financial team in Austin, TX. He oversees the state’s $5.7 billion CDBG-DR effort to provide housing, economic revitalization, infrastructure, and mitigation assistance to coastal communities recovering from the impacts of Hurricane Harvey.

Previously, Nathaniel was a founding member of the City of New York’s CDBG-DR team after Hurricane Sandy, where he assisted with the development of the city’s CDBG-DR action plan and created programs and processes for carrying out the city’s recovery using a combination of funding sources. In this capacity, he led multiple teams creating and refining budgets, developing IT systems, facilitating federal reimbursements, and tracking beneficiary and financial data. He also helped carry out economic development programs, implemented public infrastructure programs, and ensure compliance with federal and local regulations.
