Ambika Coletti is leveraging technology and industry know-how to help utility clients and their customers navigate the rapidly evolving transition to electric vehicles. As a director of beneficial electrification, she specializes in replacing fossil fuel use with electricity. This includes the design and management of electric vehicle (EV) charging and fleet assessment programs, helping utilities plan and implement equitable programs to support their customers across diverse sectors and new technologies, and assisting fleets in developing actionable electrification plans to meet increasing electrification or decarbonization mandates.

She shares, “Being part of the EV evolution over the past decade has been incredibly rewarding. I love helping clients find creative solutions to grow the many positive impacts that come with electrification.”

Using the power of tech to drive customer engagement

ICF is a leader in utility electrification programs and fleet advisory services. And technology has rapidly become a vital tool in helping clients electrify their fleets and accelerate the transition to clean energy.

To fill this need, Ambika and her team launched PowerGuide®, our proprietary electrification cloud-based platform that helps utilities maximize the impact of their fleet electrification programs while also planning for the electric grid impacts of adding tens of thousands of new EVs to a utility's territory. Providing utility customers with a centralized platform to explore educational resources, receive technical support, engage with fleet advisory services, and stay up to date as the industry evolves.

Prior to the launch of PowerGuide, she led the development of our proprietary fleet electrification assessment model on which the platform was built. The model has been used to customize strategic electrification roadmaps for 250+ fleets with 82,000+ vehicles. She also oversaw the foundational research for and development of our electric vehicle library, with over 500 EV models, and fleet EV incentives/grant programs database.

A champion for energy equity

Ambika’s personal experience as a minority in the room inspires her to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. She knows what it’s like to be the only woman or person of color on a team. And it took years of stepping out of her comfort zone, strong mentors, and learning from her mistakes to get to where she is today.

She encourages a community and workplace that embraces and empowers diversity. And that carries into her work in the transportation sector. She says, “As the electrification industry evolves, it’s essential not to leave historically underserved populations behind.”

“Equity in energy is critical to ensure fair access to energy resources for all individuals and communities.”

For her commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and multicultural awareness within ICF and the transportation industry, she was awarded a 2024 Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award by WTS International. She was also a 2023 Women of Color in STEM Award winner.

Ambika truly exemplifies what it means to live our purpose. It’s one of the many reasons she has remained at ICF for 12 years and counting. She credits the wonderful, passionate people she works with every day for keeping her inspired and motivated.

“I love ICF’s purpose of ‘building a more prosperous and resilient world for all’! Our values attract people dedicated to making a positive difference every day. And that’s what really matters.”
