Pawan Tiwari (CEA, AEA) is an energy management professional with more than 20 years of experience working on various industrial energy efficiency (EE) improvements for large industries as well as micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) in India. His decarbonization roadmap and policy recommendations helped India's hard-to-abate MSME sectors—such as steel re-rolling, paper, textile, foundry, and aluminum—become more energy- and resource-efficienct by focusing on low-carbon technologies, energy efficiency improvement assessments, technology adoption, and potential energy and greenhouse gas savings.
Pawan’s experience includes assessing decarbonization policies and recommending reforms for low-carbon industrial growth in developing economies. In high-energy industries, such as steel, pulp and paper, cement, textiles, and chemicals, Pawan provides technical assistance for energy efficiency and technology upgrades. He also conducts energy audits at large industrial complexes, data centers, and coal-fired power plants, and provides technical assistance to central and local governments in India, as well as projects in Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bhutan, and the Maldives.
Pawan holds a masters in technology degree from Devi Ahilya University, where he studied energy management at the School of Energy and Environmental Studies.
