Integrated distributed energy resource analysis—Reaching optimal solutions

Advancements in distributed energy resources and demand-side technologies have led to a complex array of options for serving the electricity demand of customers. However, most current energy solutions seldom employ an integrated analysis approach to determine the optimal mix of the technology options. ICF is in the process of developing an integrated analysis methodology to identify the cost-effective configuration of resources to serve customer demand. The main technology options used in the analysis include energy efficiency, solar PV and battery storage.

The need for effective utilization of distributed energy resources is becoming critical to utilities and stakeholders.
