Denis leads ICF’s work on aviation non-CO2 impacts. He has made contributions to navigational contrail avoidance analysis and the potential of governance structures to mitigate non-CO2 climate effects, as well as on the need for complexity-awareness when regulating in the face of uncertainty. He also provides advice on sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) policy to aviation stakeholders, as well as on environmental communications and regulatory engagements.
His experience in the aviation sector spans over 15 years, starting in airport operations. He later joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA) where he spent over a decade working on airline settlements, environmental policy, and SAF advocacy in Europe. He has also worked as an independent researcher and consultant on European environmental policies in aviation.
