Sushmita Ajwani is an energy expert with almost two decades of experience in power advisory, specializing in corporate renewable energy procurement, open access markets, and renewable power procurement. She is highly skilled at navigating complex regulatory landscapes and developing innovative solutions to drive the transition to sustainable energy.

Her expertise includes corporate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), renewable energy transactions, and market regulations. Sushmita has successfully led numerous projects related to open access markets, guiding corporate and government entities through the complexities of renewable power procurement and regulatory compliance. She is a trusted advisor to key renewable energy developers, providing support with entry strategies, regulatory guidance, and PPA scouting.

Beyond her experience in the power sector, Sushmita is also deeply involved in sustainability initiatives. She was the project manager for an FCDO project focused on implementing sustainable mobility solutions in Shimla and Chandigarh. Her expertise also extends to carbon markets, where she has played a key role in projects designed to enhance resilience in cities across Asia, including Khulna in Bangladesh and Rajkot in India.

In the hydrogen space, Sushmita has led several prominent projects, including her current role as the lead for a prestigious International Solar Alliance project dedicated to creating pathways for the commercialization of green hydrogen. Additionally, she has contributed to the U.S. Department of the Interior’s International Technical Assistance Program (ITAP), delivering hydrogen training workshops in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
