Reston, Va. (August 3, 2023)— ICF, a global consulting and technology services provider, today announced it has acquired CMY Solutions, a leading power and energy engineering firm that provides next-generation technology solutions, data analytics and approaches that drive more informed decision-making on grid modernization, programs and investments.
Founded in 2016, CMY’s team of approximately 50 highly specialized experts advise senior leaders of utilities and developers across the U.S. Europe and Asia, including investor-owned utilities, electric municipalities and electric cooperatives. They bring strong backgrounds in renewable energy integration, as well as distributed energy resources (DER) impact studies and management.
Additionally, CMY brings deep technical expertise in substation, transmission and distribution system design, protection and control, North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) compliance, as well as system planning and capital strategy consulting.
“We are pleased to welcome CMY Solutions to ICF,” said John Wasson, ICF chair and CEO. “They strengthen our ability to support utilities’ needs for grid transformation, reliability, resilience and renewables integration in a much more holistic way. As one team, we will scale our industry-leading energy service offerings and continue to grow our rapidly expanding technology and data management capabilities across the various markets we serve.”
“We have successfully partnered with ICF on multiple projects in the past, with a strong track record of delivering positive outcomes for our clients,” said Bryan Cianchetti, CMY Solutions co-founder. “Our teams share a passion for building a clean energy future and using innovative and technology-enabled solutions—from design and analysis to implementation.”
