ICF International (NASDAQ:ICFI), a leading provider of consulting services and technology solutions to government and commercial clients, was recently awarded a re-compete sale task order contract with the European Commission’s (EC) Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO). The contract, which was awarded to Brussels-based ICF Mostra, has a value of 14.2 million euros (approximately $15 million) and a term of four years.
ICF will organise and manage events across Europe for DG REGIO including the next four editions of Open Days—one of the largest institutional events organised by the EC in Brussels, attracting 6,000 to 8,000 participants each year. Open Days was created in 2003 and gathers European Union (EU), national, regional and local leaders and fund managers and final beneficiaries to discuss the challenges and opportunities of mobilising EU Cohesion Policy funding for bottom-up growth projects. ICF has coordinated this key EU regional policy event for the past four years, including the most recent gathering in October 2015.
As part of its event organisation work, ICF will support a number of related activities including media relations, social media and stakeholder engagement. A forward-looking consultancy, ICF has a pan-European approach to stakeholder engagement and communications, with excellent network partners in the member states and beyond. In addition, the firm has a solid working relationship with DG REGIO and detailed knowledge of its policies and actions based on years of support for the EC organisation.
"ICF was chosen to promote the exchange of experiences and best practices on regional policy and to enhance DG REGIO's profile as a source of information," said Tobias Schäfer, executive director for ICF Mostra. "We are committed to increasing the visibility and positive perception of EU regional policy through efficient, effective communications that are carefully targeted, deliver a strong message, have the right tone of voice and use relevant channels."
