Sustainable Aviation Fuels: An introductory guide for the Americas and Europe
A strategic and practical introduction for airlines, airports, policymakers and investors.
This webinar is for airlines and stakeholders in the Americas and Europe with little or no experience using SAFs.
Sustainable Aviation Fuels have a critical role to play in the decarbonization of aviation in coming decades, owing to their significantly lower lifecycle impact on global warming than conventional jet fuel. But many airlines don’t know where to start or are facing internal challenges owing to myths and outdated perceptions.
Armed with a better understanding the different sources of value that SAFs offer, including the value intrinsic to the fuel, carbon reduction, and various supporting regulations, airlines should be able to commit to offtake agreements close to parity with conventional fuels.
By gradually increasing the offtake commitments, we hope to see the cost differential between SAFs and conventional fuels decrease to the point that the aviation industry can achieve a much higher uptake, and make a crucial step towards a more sustainable industry.
Join experts from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Air Transport Action Group (ATAG), and ICF as they discuss:
- The different sources of value that SAFs offer.
- How we can demonstrate that SAFs are safe and feasible to use.
- Why the "value add" of SAFs minimizes the premium cost compared to conventional fuels.
- How interested parties can connect with the right experts across IATA, ATAG, and ICF for help getting started on the SAF pathway.
Take to the skies
After this webinar, we will be on hand to help airlines that are new to SAFs conduct a trial flight.
