Vish Sankaran

Vish Sankaran is a Senior Manager in the Commercial Energy Advisory Practice at ICF with over 12 years of deep experience in the U.S. power utility industry. Before joining ICF, Vish held various leadership positions at Entergy Services, Inc., including leading the Transmission Economic Planning team and the Transmission Operational Planning team. His work includes providing owners, investors, and developers of energy assets with a comprehensive range of services to identify and pursue investment opportunities, including siting strategy, congestion and curtailment analysis, contract analysis and merchant market assessments, valuation of new and existing generation assets, assessment of transmission and non-transmission alternatives to meet electricity load, due diligence support, and energy policy related expertise.

In his previous role, Vish developed and implemented long-term transmission plans and market congestion management strategy while working closely with Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) on a range of topics such as Market Congestion Planning Studies, Planning Resource Auction, Generator Interconnection Studies, and Reliability Planning Studies. He also developed and managed a $1B+ transmission portfolio over a 10-year planning horizon. Vish helped manage the implementation of nearly a $1B in transmission investment between 2017 and 2018. He has vast experience with industrywide software tools such as Siemens-PSSE®, GE-PLSF©, ABB-PROMOD©, PowerWorld®, and PowerGEM© TARA and has performed studies on generation interconnection and transmission system planning.
