Eva Hsu
Eva focuses on transportation demand management (TDM) and emerging smart mobility sectors and has over 10 years of experience. With an emphasis on sustainability, she explores how shared mobility, mobility on demand, active transportation and demand management (ATDM), and transportation systems management and operations change the transportation landscape. Her work impacts the local, state, regional, and federal levels.
Eva develops policies and strategies to incorporate emerging mobility topics into existing planning and operations efforts, particularly TDM programs. Her work helps clients implement behavior-change programs, address air quality impacts, and mitigate congestion from everyday commutes. It also applies to construction zones, special events, and consideration of accessibility and equity needs. Eva helps municipalities explore the intersection of technology and transportation by looking at how the Internet of Things, connected and autonomous vehicles, fare integration, and other developments might impact how people get around in the future.
In her work, Eva supports the New York State Department of Transportation 511NY Rideshare program. This statewide TDM and ATDM program provides multimodal transportation improvements to travelers through improved integration between TDM and transportation operations and enhanced communication programs.
She also assists the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in delivering workshops, technical assistance, and webinars to state departments of transportation and local municipalities. This work includes policies and best practice strategies that enhance mobility on demand, mobility as a service, and smart mobility efforts. In partnership with FHWA, Eva helped to create the first Regional Concept for Emerging Mobility. This initiative enables regions to identify the vision, goals, and strategies that will advance mobility for all, from daily commuters to visitors, from disadvantaged populations to children.
Eva is a member of the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT), Mid-Atlantic Chapter, having served as Secretary and Vice President. She featured on ACT’s “Top 40 Under 40” list of worldwide TDM professionals in 2016.
