ICF International (NASDAQ:ICFI), a leading provider of consulting services and technology solutions to government and commercial clients, was recently awarded a continuation of its current contract with Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO). The contract continuation has a value of more than $16 million and a term of three years.
ICF will continue to provide implementation services in support of SMECO's residential, commercial and industrial energy efficiency programs under the EmPOWER Maryland Energy Efficiency Act, which is a statewide initiative with the goal of reducing the overall per capita electric consumption and demand by 15 percent by 2015. The contract also provides for the addition of a new multi-family and a new commercial mid-stream lighting program.
To this work, ICF brings its experience in performing and delivering energy efficiency implementation services, including energy efficiency expertise, digital and interactive services, data analytics and IT solutions, creative and marketing expertise, and incentive processing and call center support.
"ICF has supported the design and implementation of SMECO's energy efficiency programs for the past six years. We are proud of the achievements we've accomplished with SMECO, including three ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year awards, achieving SMECO's EmPOWER Maryland 2015 goal by 2014, and contributing to the co-op's excellent customer service reputation, as demonstrated by seven consecutive years of J.D. Power Awards," said Selim Karabulut, vice president for ICF International.
"Winning this work affirms our position as a premier implementer of energy efficiency programs in the mid-Atlantic region," said Mike Mernick, senior vice president for ICF International. "We look forward to continuing our successful collaboration with SMECO and helping the utility grow its energy efficiency programs into 2017 and beyond."
